I had the opportunity to work with Avril, a model from Kentucky, in my Dayton studio a little while back, and she was so fun! I shot both digital and film, and we collaborated on some looks that were loosely 90s themed. The sequined butterfly shirt she's wearing below was my mom's in 1990 - I've always loved it ;-)

Souped Film


Anyone who knows me knows I love analog photography. I also love experimenting with different photographic techniques such as souped film - soaking your exposed roll of film in anything from tea to dishsoap, to salt water, letting it dry for two weeks, and then developing it in chemicals that will not touch unsouped film (so as not to leach any of the "soup" into film you don't want to soup). This causes crazy color shifts and random swirls and spots to appear on your emulsion. Here are some of the souped film images from that day in the studio!

Instant Film Double Exposures


At the end of our time in the studio, I shot a few double exposures on instant Fuji pack film I've been hoarding in my refrigerator since 2012 or so... I still get teary eyed thinking about the fact this film has been discontinued. A tragedy!
